After several years of dedicated prayer and planning, we completed the full renovation of our sanctuary in December of 2016—moving back in just one week before Christmas. The completion of this construction project was the culmination of a three-part renovation plan for the entire campus of San Dieguito UMC, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with this final effort and result!
In the pictures above, you’ll see both the architectural renderings and pictures of the sanctuary after completion. Improvements include a newly designed chancel and cross, new seating, up-to-date audio/visual support, much needed refurbishment of our Schantz organ, energy-efficient and recessed lighting, central air conditioning, a family/gender-neutral restroom, a memorial chapel, a newly commissioned altar and pulpit, and more!
With great thanks to all who have so generously given of their time and monetary gifts to bring this vision to life, we trust that this place of worship will inspire and nurture people in their faith for decades to come.
If you would like to continue to support the updates and needs of our sanctuary, including the purchase of new furniture for the narthex (foyer), our baptismal font and flagon (pitcher) and other communion wares, or other needs as they arise, please visit the GIVE page and designate your donation to “Lift High the Cross.”
(We especially give thanks to Domus Studio Architecture and R&R Construction for the design and completion of this project.)
